Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- 3 years of experience developing and managing managers.
- Experience with project and vendor management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in managing construction projects within an international working environment or with commercial agreement management and procurement.
- Experience in working within the mission critical sector.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships, with the knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry.

Google isn't just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). You'll also address the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. You'll participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. A typical day involves manual movement and installation of racks, and while it can sometimes be physically demanding, you are excited to work with infrastructure that is at the cutting-edge of computer technology.You manage a team that ensures the quality installation of server hardware and components. You coordinate over multiple sites and take charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting.
In this role, you will be involved in every aspect of the design development and localization, procurement, schedule and cost management, delivery, commissioning, handover and close-out of the data center projects, including facility upgrades within operational data centers. You will partner with the local/regional facility managers, plant engineers, design, project controls, delivery and commissioning teams, to develop solutions. You will manage schedules, budgets and inter-dependencies, all while maintaining industry leading Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality standards. You will have excellent communication, collaborative and organisational skills, with the ability to self-direct. You will manage a team and hence leadership skills are required.The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. Responsibilities
- Drive the development of localized designs leveraged from programmatic design, supporting procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout and hand-off to the Operations Team while meeting safety, cost, schedule and quality goals and established customer requirements.
- Establish and maintain delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors, measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Develop growth plans and lead talent recruitment initiatives, delivering onboarding programs to ensure the success of newly-added team members.
- Lead the identification, selection and onboarding of new regional contractors and vendors to increase the current bench.
- Resolve issues that affect project delivery through proactive problem-solving engagement with partners.
