Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience working in a creative discipline (e.g., brand design, art direction, or creative direction).
  • Experience leading agency or in-house creative teams across multiple disciplines globally.
  • A portfolio of creative work displaying experience in setting creative direction for photography, motion/video, and renderings for brands.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to operate in a matrixed environment and thrive in ambiguity.
  • Ability to build excellent relationships with stakeholders and peers.
  • Ability to inspire people at all levels within organizations.
  • Outstanding conceptualization skills with the ability to distill ideas to their essence.

About the job

As a Creative in Marketing, you bring visual, design, written and experiential acumen to Google products and services, presented across all major media, content, channels, and experiences. You have the ability to perform your role in a flexible, ever-changing environment and must be open to new influences and inspiration. You will work with a deeply cross-functional team and inspire a team of vendor partners by sharing ideas and developing effective solutions to generate multiple concepts supporting all forms of major media. You will be equally comfortable making; rolling up your sleeves and designing, mocking, writing, or prototyping; showing, not telling. Above all, you will inspire and lead by example by making the most of every opportunity to develop breakthrough creative, consistent with the Google Marketing brand, and be able to take and provide clear direction and creative feedback that pushes work forward.

Platforms & Devices Marketing is responsible for bringing the best of Google's hardware, software, and AI to users through products like Pixel, Nest, Fitbit, and more. We strive to create experiences that are helpful, beautifully designed, and seamlessly integrated into consumers’ lives. As the Group Creative Brand Design Manager, you would help define and drive the creative expression of Google devices across key visual and marketing disciplines. In this role, you will set the creative direction and standards for photography, motion graphics, copy, and CGI/renderings across the entire devices portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive brand guidelines and playbooks that empower internal teams and external partners to create on-brand communications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$311,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with ECD and other creative leaders to develop compelling creative content (photography, product design, copy, motion and still) that align with yearly product, campaign roadmaps, and overall communications strategies.
  • Develop elevated aesthetics, visually cohesive campaigns, and tell a powerful story through the work. 
  • Direct photo shoots to create compelling photography for launch, campaign, and sustain.
  • Develop and foster relationships with agency and production partners to deliver great work across a modern marketing mix of channels.
  • Define the principles, styles, and techniques that ensure consistency, quality, and premium execution across all consumer-facing touchpoints (e.g., web, retail, packaging, campaigns, social).
