Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, investment banking, management consulting, or a similar corporate finance role.
- Experience with Python/R to extract and manipulate large data sets.
- Knowledge of SQL skills (e.g., BigQuery).
- Knowledge of finance processes and systems.
- Strong financial modeling, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
About the job
As a Financial Analyst on the Google Public Sector Financial Planning and Analysis(FP&A) team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy and insights for a multi-billion-dollar business. Your work will influence plans made by GPS leadership.
Your primary focus will be developing business forecasts and conducting cross sectional analysis on the Google Cloud Platform(GCP) business identifying key trends by micro-region, customer, and product. You will identify risks and opportunities and propose solutions that will drive new business and expand existing business. Additionally, the role will perform what-if analysis based on any number of variables of bookings performance as well as create dashboards to support real-time data sharing. This role will collaborate within GPS and Cloud Finance and have exposure to the GPS leadership team. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Support all aspects of the GPS, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting. Develop and own business models, working closely with Sales Operations and Go-To-Market teams to triangulate monthly and quarterly business forecasts.
- Conduct cross-sectional analysis on the GCP business to identify trends by micro-region, customer, and product. Identify risks and opportunities related to business, cross-promoting, customer consumption patterns, and list/net pricing.
- Work with data sets to solve non-routine analysis problems. Develop easy-to-understand financial models for what-if analysis, evaluation, and investment choice.
