Mobility Network Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience designing, building, and operating Wi-Fi networks.
  • Experience with planning and designing large scale networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).
  • Experience with 2 or more of the following technologies/protocols: 802.1X, 802.11, unlicensed Radio Frequency planning (2.4 and 5GHz), TCP/UDP/IP.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA).
  • 3 years of experience providing significant technical contributions on an engineering team.
  • Experience in network operations and core technologies like TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and various protocols including IPSec, RADIUS, and GRE.
  • Experience working with multiple Wi-Fi vendors and familiarity with standards up to Wi-Fi 6E.
  • Knowledge and application of at least one programming language.
  • Excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership and motivation with systematic problem-solving approach.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$161,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the requirement analysis, engineering design, and solution development of Google’s enterprise Wireless network infrastructure through published engineering design documents and specifications.
  • Engage in and improve the life-cycle of the Google Enterprise Network from inception and design, to qualification and validation, through deployment, operation and optimization.
  • Scale systems sustainably through tools and automation, and evolve systems by managing change that improves reliability and velocity.
  • Work with other teams to analyze requirements or potential problems and proactively develop solutions and policy recommendations.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation as needed.
