Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in network engineering, software engineering, or test engineering, with a focus on network infrastructure.
- Experience with network protocols, architectures, and testing methodologies.
- Experience in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python) for test automation.
- Experience in designing and implementing test plans and automation for networking systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in a related technical field.
- Experience with modern network management interfaces and protocols (e.g., gRPC, gNMI, OpenConfig).
- Familiarity with WAN technologies, including disaggregated networking or software-defined networking concepts.

As a Networking Test Engineer you make sure that our massive and growing network is operating at its peak potential. You have hands-on experience with complex networking equipment, a deep understanding of networking protocols, test design and implementation chops and a background in IP network design. It's your job to make sure Google's cutting-edge technology can perform at scale.
You maintain and troubleshoot networking features and systems, collaborate internally to evaluate and resolve network designs and issues, and develop test plans and processes. You may also lead projects, providing expertise to team members, and manage projects timelines, resources and activities.

Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and lead the implementation of test strategies and architectures for critical WAN infrastructure projects. Design and execute comprehensive functional, integration, performance, and system-level testing for complex network devices and management systems.
- Drive the creation and enhancement of scalable test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with Network Architecture, Software Engineering, and Product teams to embed quality throughout the development life-cycle and influence design for testability. - Provide technical leadership in diagnosing and resolving complex issues across multi-vendor network environments.
- Mentor and guide other engineers in best practices for network testing, automation, and system quality.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders on testing priorities, quality standards, and release readiness.
