Data Center Architect, Data Center Technology and Systems

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience in architecture design and building elements (e.g., roof, facade, flooring etc).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or a professional engineering license or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
  • Experience in managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to analyze and think while customizing communication based on the audience and project.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural engineering expertise for design-related activities in connection with Google data centers. Serve as an in-house technical advisory and authorized technical representative in architectural engineering matters.
  • Work with stakeholders and partner teams, external vendors including Architecture and Engineering, suppliers and contractors to execute the architectural design and interrelated disciplinary co-ordination including permitting.
  • Provide architectural guidance. Review design principles, drawings, calculations, submittals and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain Google standards while advising any localization required. Provide and drive solutions for consideration and approval.
  • Update and maintain the internal design specifications, guidelines, requirements and standards to the latest configurations and solutions based on new requirements, lessons learned and feedback.
