Technical Program Manager, Wireless, Devices and Services

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • 2 years of experience in consumer electronics, or in wireless design (RF and Antenna), testing, and certifications.
  • Experience with wireless technologies including WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in wireless design (e.g., RF, Antenna), testing, and certifications.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering (EE) systems, wireless/RF hardware development, manufacturing processes, and collaboration with Contract Manufacturers (CM).
  • Excellent team player and creative thinking skills, with the ability to lead the collaboration among technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors in accordance with plans.
  • Excellent communication, organizational execution, and leadership skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Google consumer hardware wireless hardware projects from product definition stage till design lock for mass production with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with RF, Antenna, Systems leadership, and more to streamline effectiveness.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported program(s).
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership, and lead teams on wireless related launch gating issues.
  • Interface with internal and external teams (e.g., compliance, carrier, and vendors) to support wireless team needs, schedule, and performance.
