Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products.
- 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multimodal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Ability to build relationships globally, ensuring effective collaboration between local and US-based teams to deliver AI-driven solutions.
- Ability to work with distributed teams across multiple time zones, fostering strong communication, collaboration, and a sense of shared purpose even in a remote work environment.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Grow and manage a high-performing team of 12+ Software Engineers, ML Engineers and ML Researchers for the AirStream and the Sensor Intelligence team.
- Build capabilities in production that allow for the seamless and performant interaction between on-device, cloud LLMs or LLMs in a private sealed environment.
- Productionize architecture that seamlessly spans devices and servers, while remaining adaptable to various compute and power capabilities.
- Productionize horizontal technology, building the necessary infrastructure and pathways, driving customer onboarding, and owning the upstreaming of user feedback and data back to AIR and GDM teams for Hybrid, in context learning, Nano and Private Inference.
- Collaborate with researchers and translate research findings from sensor data into practical applications for fitness and health.
