Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 1 year of experience with testing, maintaining or launching software products.
- 1 year of experience with designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.

The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help our users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.
Responsibilities
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Write product or system development code. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and automation tools. Build and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure the quality of our software.
- Collaborate with peers to understand requirements needs and translate them into effective and user-friendly solutions.
