Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree, MBA or JD.
  • Experience escalating and presenting key issues and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, structure agreements, interpret legal documents, and work with legal teams to sign and manage agreements.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical and product concepts.
  • Ability to thrive in fluid, collaborative, and ambiguous start-up like environments where thoughtfulness, an entrepreneurial mindset, persistent execution, and relationships drive success.

About the job

The overarching mission of the Google Play partnerships team is to empower and enable developers to engage and delight people everywhere, build successful businesses, and to realize value across Google.

In this role, you will manage a complex Google top partner, as well as developing and delivering best practices for working with these strategic Alliance partners across Play and Platforms and Devices. The Alliance Apps partnerships community should look to this role as a resource, leader, and sponsor.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000-$306,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own and lead partner management and Partnership and Development (P&D) strategy for Google Play Alliance app including developing and delivering on a cross-P&D growth plan, business consulting, product 
    GTM support, and agreement negotiation.
  • Develop, deliver best practices for Alliance app partner management, including strategic value and joint business plan templates, stakeholder mapping (internal and external) best practices, Play/P&D executive briefing templates, Alliance App partnerships manager community upskilling and learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (partnerships, product, legal, top partners, GTM, etc.) to deliver on Apps Alliance partner strategic goals, develop, execute Joint Business Plan (JBP) templates, briefing documentation best practices, and stakeholder mapping strategy.
  • Regular engagement with Top/Priority Partners team to share insights and learnings across apps Alliance partners.
  • Lead community forums for apps Alliance partner managers and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. legal, GAPP) globally.
