About the job
Google works on technologies to enable the next generation of immersive experiences and devices. We design, prototype, and research the experiences and interactions that set the direction for a new product category, products that deliver on a promise to provide our users with lovable, approachable, and truly helpful technology. Design is at the forefront of everything we do.
As a Staff UX Designer on the Google Hardware team, you will leverage your breadth as a UX Designer with your leadership skills to help define every aspect of an emerging device category with very little precedent in the real world.
In this role, you will work closely with UX Engineers, Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, UX Researchers, Product Leads, and Hardware teams to bring spatial experiences to life, shaping how users interact with this groundbreaking technology, and laying the foundation for new interaction models and design patterns that influence future product generations. As part of a small team, you will need to be able to both contribute as an IC and take the lead on bigger initiatives, working directly with cross-functional partners to maintain a high bar for craft and execution.
Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.
