UPDATE 5/8/19: John Cook (18-years-old) and Jamirious Gardner (17-year-old) have both been indicted for the April 11th killing of Anthony Wilson

UPDATE 4/14/2019 at 3:37 p.m.:

Bond has been set at $1 million for 17-year-old Jamirious Jantrel Gardner.

John James Cook, 18, also has a bond set at $1 million.

According to the Jefferson County Jail, both remain behind bars at this time.

"3rd Suspect Arrested in 6800 Madrid Homicide

Beaumont Police Detectives have made a third arrest in the April 11th homicide of Anthony Wilson. The suspect is a 15 year old male, therefore his identity can not be released. BPD will be scheduling a press conference for the early part of this week to address the circumstances surrounding the investigation, including the outpouring of support and assistance from the community. The details of the press conference will be announced at a later time, via press release.

With overwhelming assistance from the community, Detectives have investigated hundreds of tips, while also continuing to investigate the April 8th homicide of Reginald Coleman in the 2800 block of Gulf Street.After hours of interviews, Jamirious Jantrel Gardner (17 year old, pictured below in green) and John James Cook (18 year old, pictured below in black) were placed under arrest for Murder. When Officers arrived, they located the victim, Anthony Wilson, a 37 year old Beaumont man, laying near the roadway. Beaumont EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. Preliminary investigation has revealed that 3 black male suspects committed several auto burglaries in the Dowlen West Neighborhood, including at the victim’s. It is believed that the victim confronted the suspect(s) in the 6800 block of Madrid, at which time the suspect(s) shot the victim and stole his truck. A short time later, the victim’s vehicle was located in the 400 block of Norwalk, abandoned.The investigation is on-going and Detectives are asking anyone who lives in the Dowlen West Neighborhood to check their home security and doorbell cameras between the hours of 8:00-10:00 p.m. Additionally, Detectives are asking anyone who lives in the Amelia area, to check their home security and doorbell cameras between the 10:00-11:00 p.m. hour, as this is the area that the suspect(s) abandoned the victim’s vehicle and fled on foot. Beaumont Police are working to find the killers who took the life of a husband and father of two young children when he confronted them following an auto burglary in his west Beaumont neighborhood.

On Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10:12 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 6800 block of Madrid in reference to a victim of a shooting. When Officers arrived, they located the victim, Anthony Wilson, a 37-year-old Beaumont man, lying near the roadway.

Wilson owned a landscaping business and was a West Brook High School graduate.

He was married with two children and the couple had a third on the way.

On Thursday, April 11 at 10:12 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 6800 block of Madrid in reference to a call reporting a victim of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim, Anthony Wilson, 37, of Beaumont, lying near the roadway. He died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that three black male suspects committed several auto burglaries in the Dowlen West neighborhood, including at the victim's residence.

Police believe Wilson confronted the suspect(s) in the 6800 block of Madrid, at which time the suspect(s) shot Wilson and stole his white Nissan Titan truck. A short time later, the victim's abandoned vehicle was located in the 400 block of Norwalk in the Amelia neighborhood,.

The investigation is on-going and detectives are asking anyone who lives in the Dowlen West neighborhood to check their home security and doorbell cameras for video from Thursday between the hours of 8:00-10:00 p.m.

Additionally, detectives are asking anyone who lives in the Amelia area, to check their home security and doorbell cameras between the 10:00-11:00 p.m. hour, as this is the area that the suspect(s) abandoned the victim's vehicle and fled on foot.

BPD has released several videos of the suspects on the BPD Facebook and Twitter pages.

This is the fifth homicide of 2019 in Beaumont and the second in about one week.
