The game has claimed two lives in India so far -- Manish Sarki (18) of Kurseong in Darjeeling district hanged himself on August 20 while Aditi Goyal (26), also from Kurseong, committed suicide the next day. Describing the Momo Challenge as "a new killer game on social media", police has advised parents not to allow their children to play this online game.

The first death was reported in Argentina where a 12-year-old teenager girl filmed her tasks on her phone before committing suicide.
What are the tasks?
The game throws a series of challenges in the form of activities that need to be completed to finally meet the 'Momo'. Most of these tasks, according to reports, involve violent acts that end with suicide. If someone refuses to follow the instructions, the Momo intimidate them with dire consequences.
Tips to protect yourself
Don't accept any 'invitation to play' from any unknown number. If you get an invite from an unknown number, block that number straightaway and report it to police.
Keep a close watch on your child activities. Don't undermine their concerns.
