After KiKi challenge and deadly Blue Whale game, another social media game Momo challenge has made headway in several countries. Taking note of rising number of deaths in India, several state police have issued warning against the challenge. The game throws a series of challenges in the form of tasks to the people with suicidal tendency, which ends with the final task asking them to take their lives.

The game has claimed two lives in India so far -- Manish Sarki (18) of Kurseong in Darjeeling district hanged himself on August 20 while Aditi Goyal (26), also from Kurseong, committed suicide the next day. Describing the Momo Challenge as "a new killer game on social media", police has advised parents not to allow their children to play this online game.

    What's Momo challenge ?
First started on Facebook, the link of the game is gaining popularity among teenagers on WhatsApp. The game uses an image of a doll with scary features and big bulging eyes to catch the attention of children. The Japanese artist who created the image, Midori Hayashi, however has denied any association with the game.

The game asks a player to perform tasks, which ends with the final task asking them to take their lives.

The first death was reported in Argentina where a 12-year-old teenager girl filmed her tasks on her phone before committing suicide.

    What are the tasks?
The game throws a series of challenges in the form of activities that need to be completed to finally meet the 'Momo'. Most of these tasks, according to reports, involve violent acts that end with suicide. If someone refuses to follow the instructions, the Momo intimidate them with dire consequences.

    Tips to protect yourself
Don't accept any 'invitation to play' from any unknown number. If you get an invite from an unknown number, block that number straightaway and report it to police.

Keep a close watch on your child activities. Don't undermine their concerns.
