SAN ANTONIO – Authorities have a woman wanted for murder behind bars after allegedly shooting a man inside a luxury apartment on the city’s North Side.

Sasha Skare, 21, was arrested Saturday after investigators say she allegedly shot and killed Martell Deouren, 34, inside The Towers Apartments along La Cantera Parkway back in late January.

According to an arrest affidavit, neighbors reported hearing a man and woman argue moments before a gunshot was heard.

Investigators say Skare was seen in surveillance footage at the apartment complex walking along the hallway moments after the alleged shooting.

Skare was also involved in a deadly North Austin shooting back in 2019.

Andrew Jyaire Bass, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts from fire personnel and Austin-Travis County EMS.

In January, we caught up with the mother of the shooting victim, who knew the 21-year-old and said she should still be behind bars.

"She was involved in an incident that resulted in the death of somebody and I think that she needs to be held accountable," Misty Renee Bass said.

According to the Austin Police Department, the shooting appeared to have stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.

It happened at 1:34 p.m. on November 29 in the 1003 block of Justin Lane at an apartment in North Austin.

Skare was named Marshals' Most Wanted in 2019 on a charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

In addition to existing charges, Skare is now also facing first-degree felony charges for murder.
