Donald Trump gets huge UFC 287 ovation as he takes cageside seat with Mike Tyson and Dana White just days after arrest

Donald Trump was the most popular man at UFC 287.

The former American president got the loudest cheers of the night as he entered Kaseya Center in Miami while Kid Rock’s ‘American Badass’ played in the background.

Trump, who has just been charged with 34 felony charges relating to hush money, took his cageside seat next to UFC president Dana White and boxing legend Mike Tyson to watch arguably the best MMA card of 2023 so far.

Jorge Masvidal, a known fan of the 45th US leader, suffered a unanimous decision defeat to long-time welterweight contender Gilbert Burns in the UFC 287 co-main event.

The loss was his fourth in a row and prompted him to retire from MMA.

However, during his retirement speech, Masvidal decided to take a moment to shout out Trump and label him the ‘greatest president’ of all time.

He said: “I wanna say, greatest president in the history of the world sitting right there. I love that guy!

“We have also got the greatest governor [Ron DeSantis] of all time here in Florida. Let’s keep Florida free, a red state, and let’s take you know who [Joe Biden] out of power and replace him.”

Last month, Colby Covington weighed in as the backup fighter for Leon Edwards’ UFC 286 trilogy fight with Kamaru Usman at London’s O2 Arena.

‘Chaos’ explained he had to cut a significant amount of weight in one day after getting the late notice call to be involved in the promotion’s latest UK event.

The 35-year-old claimed that he doesn’t usually have to lose so much weight to make 170lbs but he was slightly out of shape after a recent party with Trump.

Covington explained: “I got to London on Thursday morning and weighed 188lbs.

“I had 18lbs to lose in one day. Did you hear me cry? Did you hear me make excuses? No. I got to work like the ultimate professional I am, and I made the weight.”

“Usually, it’s about 13, 14, 15lbs max but I was with Donald Trump last week.

“We were at a birthday party at Donald Trump’s and we were just kind of eating. I wasn’t really thinking that I was going to be the backup fighter, I hadn’t heard anything from the UFC.

“So, I was like, ‘I’m going to splurge a little bit. I’m going to eat and have this buffet-style food and not really worry about it. Hopefully, I’ll get the [UFC 286 main event] winner this summer.'”
