Kentucky mayor unleashes profanity-laden Facebook post urging residents to stay home: 'Listen up, dipsh*ts'

Although the global death toll from the coronavirus pandemic has passed 19,600 (according to John Hopkins University in Baltimore) and over 190 people have died from it in New York City alone, some states still have their share of residents continuing to insist that the dangers of COVID-19 are being exaggerated. And Gabe Brown, the mayor of Walton, Kentucky, made it clear that he has lost all patience with such people when he lambasted them on his Facebook page.
“Listen up, dipshits and sensible people,” Brown asserted in his angry Facebook rant. “I might not have the best bedside manner. I might not put you at ease like the governor does, but I don’t care. You need to realize that this is a serious ordeal. In fact, it’s a big fucking deal. Stay at home.”
The mayor elaborated, “I didn’t give you information to induce panic. I gave you information so that you’d be informed.”
Brown went on to say that while dealing with coronavirus is exhausting, he’s doing it out of necessity and doesn’t appreciate being attacked for trying to save lives.
“I pray every night that the state, county and region that I love with all of my heart will stop doing nonsensical things,” Brown explained. “Treat this seriously. If you don’t, then screw you. F#ck you is what I want to say, but I can’t.”
Although there were some negative reactions to Brown’s rant, there were highly positive ones as well. Heather Williams wrote, “I admire the straightforwardness,” while Bill Northcutt posted, “He says and tells it like it is. No pussyfooting around. I like that in a person, whether male or female.” And Brittany Asher wrote, “I’m moving back to Walton next election just to vote for you again.”
