Every fast food chain you can probably think of has hopped on the plant-based train recently, making faux meat sound better and better...especially since you never have to run the risk of ever consuming raw flesh when you opt for a veggie-based burger. All that is to say there is a recent report of a woman receiving a raw chicken sandwich from an Arizona Burger King.

It was a regular Thursday for Charlotte Parker when she decided to pick up some food from the fast food chain for her family. When she arrived home, everyone went straight in to eat, but her 13-year-old granddaughter didn't look too well after taking a couple bites of her chicken sandwich. The teen reportedly threw up shortly after eating, and when she handed what was left of the meal to Parker, the woman noticed it was raw. "It was as pink as can be," she told AZFamily.com.

Brace yourselves for the photos. If you can't handle what's already been described, now's the time to look away.

According to the site, Parker called the BK location she bought the food from to address the issue; they apparently said they may have hit a wrong button which caused the chicken to not be cooked enough. Burger King released the following statement to the family:

We are sorry to hear about this experience and are thankful that it was brought to our attention. We have very strict protocols guiding the cooking process at restaurants, and we take any issue regarding food safety very seriously. The restaurant owner has retrained the restaurant staff on our cooking protocols following this incident. Separately, the owner has reached out to the guest to offer a refund and explain the actions the restaurant has taken to ensure this does not happen again.

Delish has also reached out to Burger King for further comment. Sooo, yeah! Next time, maybe go for the Impossible Whopper.
