West Ham United have been given new hope in the chase for French defender Layvin Kurzawa.

According to a recent report from French media outlet Foot Mercato, West Ham are interested in signing the Paris Saint-Germain left-back, who can also operate at right-back.

The 13-capped France international would be an absolutely incredible signing for the Hammers.

But other clubs, such as Inter Milan, have also been linked.

West Ham target Kurzawa turns down Inter for Premier League – report

David Moyes got a big boost on Monday night, though, after reports from Italy claimed Kurzawa had turned down Inter in favour of a move to the Premier League.

L’Equipe states that the Nerazzurri have made an approach that has been rejected by the player.

The report claims that is because Kurzawa has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.

But if West Ham are serious about signing the exciting 27-year-old they need to act fast.

But Hammers need to act fast

L’Equipe also claims Inter are not giving up on Kurzawa easily and are preparing a second proposal.

West Ham have major issues in both the left-back and right-back department.

So a player with the versatility to operate on both sides like Kurzawa would be invaluable.

Aaron Cresswell is solid enough but has struggled to steer clear of injury while Arthur Masuaku is woefully inconsistent.

Versatile Kurzawa just what West Ham need but can Moyes lure him?

On the other flank Ryan Fredericks has struggled to establish himself and he too is injury-prone – currently out for the next two months.

And much-loved but ageing Pablo Zabaleta, who turns 35 on Thursday, is leaving the Hammers and most likely retiring at the end of the season.

Kurzawa has struggled for game time this season. And he will be guaranteed that at West Ham.

But whether Moyes can lure a player from PSG to join a relegation battle remains to be seen.
