Wake Forest graduate transfer Keyshawn Woods commits to Ohio State

Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State Buckeyes picked up another big basketball commitment. And once again, it’s a transfer from the ACC.

Wake Forest shooting guard Keyshawn Woods posted to Twitter that he has committed to the Scarlet and Gray.

The redshirt junior averaged 11.9 ppg for the Demon Deacons in the 2017-18 season, and appeared in 28 games. Of those 28 contests, Woods started in five of them.

If OSU needed someone who could be productive on offense, then Woods fits the bill. He had 20 double-figure games last season, with 15 of those coming from off the bench. He was vital to the Wake Forest offense—ending the season as the second leading scorer on the team. From beyond the arc, Woods went 36-of-99 last season; and averaged 40.6 percent from three-point range over the last two seasons, making 86 total shots from downtown.

On top of the on-court production, Woods was productive in the classroom, earning ACC all-academic honors last season.

It’s been a wild road for Woods, who started his college career in 2014-15 for the Charlotte 49ers. There he averaged 8.4 ppg in 34 games, before making the move north to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the 2015-16 season.

As a graduate transfer, he’ll be able to play right away for the Buckeyes.
