Konami is bringing Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, the 2003 mech action game produced by Hideo Kojima, to PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR support. Konami and Sony announced the remaster, titled Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner — Mars, at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s pre-Tokyo Game Show 2017 press conference.

The PS4 remaster of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner will boast enhanced graphics and 4K resolution support. An announcement trailer also promised new sound design and “next-gen surround sound.” The game will feature “complete VR support” for a new perspective, Konami said.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner — Mars will also be released for Windows PC on Steam.

The original Zone of the Enders was released in 2001 for PlayStation 2. The game spawned a spin-off for Game Boy Advance, as well as the sequel in 2003. Zone of the Enders and its sequel, The 2nd Runner, were released as part of an HD collection for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner — Mars will be released in spring 2018.

Correction: The original version of this post reported that Anubis Zone of the Enders: Mars/Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner — Mars was a remaster of the original Zone of the Enders. The game is actually a remaster of the sequel, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. This post has been corrected and updated with additional information from Konami.
