Sheffield murders – Mum Sarah Barrass, 34, and uncle, Brandon Machin 37, accused of murdering her teenage sons
Sarah Barrass sobbed as she appeared before magistrates today
THESE are the first pictures of two teenage boys found dead at their home and their mum and uncle accused of murdering them.
Sarah Barrass, 34, and Brandon Machin, 37, appeared in court today charged with killing the boys at a house in Sheffield.
She sobbed in court as the charges were read out following the deaths of Blake Barrass, 14, and 13-year-old Tristan.
Barrass and Machin wore grey prison t-shirts and were flanked by three security dock officers at Sheffield Magistrates' Court.
They spoke to confirm their names, dates of birth, addresses and nationalities during the 10-minute hearing.
Barrass is also charged with three counts of attempted murder against two other children.
The pair were both remanded in custody following the tragedy, which saw four other children get rushed to hospital.
They were all released from hospital on Sunday.
Police were scrambled to the home in the Shiregreen area of the city over concerns for the occupants' welfare at around 7.30am.
Horrified neighbours told how one boy was taken away on a stretcher as paramedics frantically tried to resuscitate him.
