Tunisia international Ayman Ben Mohamed training with Bohemians but unlikely to make permanent move

AYMAN BEN MOHAMED is training with Bohemians - but boss Declan Devine said it is unlikely the Tunisia international will be returning to Dalymount Park permanently.

Ben Mohamed, 28, is a fan favourite in Dublin 7 after his six-month spell with the club in 2016 that saw him capped by Tunisia and earn a move to North African giants Esperance.

The London-born Dublin-raised star then moved to France with Le Havre before a loan spell in Turkey.

But out of contract now, he is back in Dublin and joined Bohemians for training to get himself fit ahead of French player union arranged trials next week.

And Devine acknowledged that a move to Bohemians is unlikely at the moment, but he would happily speak to the winger if a permanent return appeals to him.

Devine said: “We’d always be interested in speaking to him if nothing happens in France, absolutely.

“But I think his main focus at the minute is to try and get himself fit to go to the training camp, a PFA French training camp.

“I think he is potentially looking at something in Ligue One, which shows you the potential of the player.

“If nothing happens in France, then we certainly would be having a different conversation.”

Meanwhile, Devine confirmed that goalkeeper James Tabolt is fit to face Shelbourne in tomorrow’s League of Ireland clash live on RTE Two.

The stopper was forced to withdraw from the Ireland training squad that met earlier this week in Bristol with a hamstring issue.

But he took a full part in training today and is available for selection for Bohs.

Devine added: “He didn't go, he picked up a strain in Dundalk in the warm-up, Thursday was the first day he was on the pitch, so it was a case where we couldn't take a risk and there was no point in him going there to watch training.

“We had him assessed all week and he was able to take part on Thursday but it was a tight hamstring and it wasn't worth the risk to send him away. He will be fine for Friday.”
