Funeral arraignments have been announced for an Erskine College student who died in a boating accident on Lake Secession.
Jack Franklin-Lee Hunt, 18, of Townville, was driving the boat Friday at 11:41 p.m. while two students were fishing when debris popped out of the water and hit him as he heading back to the landing dock, the coroner said.
On Monday, Hunt's family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Sullivan-King Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Townville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James Crittendon and Rev. Jacob Simmons.
A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Members of the Wild Hog Bass Club and the Erskine Fishing team will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Hunt was a member of the Erskine fishing team, officials said.
The bass fishing team posted on Facebook Saturday afternoon, saying, "Last night, our family lost a brother, a teammate, a true friend, and a young man with a gift and pure passion for the sport of bass fishing."
The post went on to say, "While two of our guys were night fishing, there was a freak boating accident, which ended tragic. We will never fully understand why this accident happened, but it shows us exactly how precious life is."
Abbeville County coroner Mark Dorn has ruled Hunt's death accidental.
