With an NBA Finals for the ages, LeBron James took home the Finals MVP award after leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to the franchise's first NBA Championship. Thanks to James, the Cavaliers became the first team in Finals history to come back from a 3-1 deficit to take the NBA crown.
James was superb in Game 7, scoring 27 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, dishing out 11 assists and swatting three shots, including a breathtaking denial of Andre Iguodala down the stretch.
That performance followed up amazing outbursts in Games 5 and 6, when James went off for 82 points, 24 rebounds and 18 assists. If there was a question of who was the best player on the planet before this series started, James put an end to that conversation.
The win gave James his third NBA championship and his third Finals MVP -- he won the award both times he was a champ with the Miami Heat.
James wasn't without help -- Kyrie Irving poured in points throughout the series -- but he was nearly unstoppable on both sides of the ball, completely outplaying regular season MVP Stephen Curry. He was the high-soaring, unstoppable force that he's been since entering the league in 2003.
For James, it was an assertion of his dominance. Iguodala did his best to halt James, but it was almost never enough -- James was too powerful, too fast, too good.
Now, he's a three-time Finals MVP.
