Donald Trump thinks 49ers drafted 'the next Tom Brady' in C.J. Beathard

Trump gave C.J. Beathard some high praise several months ago.

President Donald Trump is a huge fan of former Iowa quarterback and San Francisco 49ers draftee C.J. Beathard.

Back in January during Trump’s primary campaign rally in Iowa, the Hawkeyes football team was there. He then referred to Beathard as the next Tom Brady.

“We’ve got the next Tom Brady right over here, the quarterback, he’s going to be the next Tom Brady,” Trump said via The Gazette.

“The next Tom Brady, come on. And I know Tom, and he’s a great guy, I want to tell you.”

Niners Nation points out that Trump also felt that Johnny Manziel would be “really good” in the NFL.

So is C.J. Beathard the next Tom Brady? Probably not. I mean, the odds aren’t great of somebody becoming arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Of course, we didn’t think that Tom Brady would be as great as he became, either.

Beathard threw for 1,929 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions for Iowa during the 2016 season in which they went 8-5 and second place in the Big Ten West.

He’s more than likely not the next Tom Brady.
