Natural Resources Section Meeting

On Tuesday, June 8, 2010, the Natural Resources Section (NRS) will hold its monthly brown bag lunch meeting from noon to 1pm at the HSBA conference room (located on the 10th floor of Alakea Corporate Tower, 1100 Alakea Street).

NRS will host guest speaker Terrance Ware, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Administrator for the City and County of Honolulu, who will discuss: "Sustainability Through TOD."

Terry was recently hired as the Manager for Transit-Oriented Development for the City & County of Honolulu. Terry has thirty plus years of experience in many facets of architecture, land development, planning and urban design - in academia, public and private sector practice. His specific areas of expertise are urban design and redevelopment. Prior to accepting the position in Honolulu, he worked for Mayor John Hickenlooper as the Director of Housing & Neighborhood Development, for the City & County of Denver.

Terry has been involved in several transit projects in cities across the United states including: Denver, CO.; Berkeley, Oakland, Sacramento and San Leandro, CA.; Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio; Pittsburgh, PA; Pinellas County & Hillsborough (Tampa Bay) County, FL; Charlotte, N.C.; Phoenix, AZ.; Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, GA.
