“Swamp People” to headline Dogwood Days
by Patti Wolff
History’s very own Swamp People, Troy & Chase Landry will headline the attractions at this year’s Dogwood Days Festival in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Saturday, May 12, 2012. What better way to celebrate our 26th year than with the “King of the Swamp” himself. Both Troy and his son Chase will be appearing for a meet and greet opportunity where you can get autographs and have your picture taken with official Swamp People. Bringing Troy and Chase to Horseshoe Bend Dogwood Days is made possible by these sponsors: Bancorp South, Mayor Bob & Tina Barnes, FNBC, IESI, Al & Kay Shaw, Southfork River TLC., Senator David Wyatt and Horseshoe Bend Fire and Rescue Department. For more information on sponsorship, please call Tina Barnes, 870-670-4524.
The day’s events officially start at 10am. Crafters from all over Northern Arkansas and Southern Missouri will be displaying their items. We will also have sections designated for Lawn & Garden, Beauty & Personal Care, Medical & Safety, a fabulous Food Court, Pony Rides, Kid’s games and Horseshoe Health and Medicine’s bouncy houses. The FNBC kiddy train will be running throughout the day as well as live entertainment in our Gazebo. Being an election year, we will also have a “Meet & Greet your Politician” and a Politician Hour on the main stage. The day will end with Smokin’ Butts BBQ Supper at 5pm and a street dance from 5 – 8pm featuring the David Sherrell Band from Melbourne.
Your host for the day is The Horseshoe Bend Area Chamber of Commerce. Applications are being accepted for vendors. With the popularity of this year’s events and guests, vendor spots will fill up fast. So please get your applications in as soon as possible.
