Tartan Day Celebration

Tartan Day celebrates the Declaration of Arbroath, a declaration of Scottish independence sent to Pope John XXII, dated the 6th of April, 1320 and signed by Scotland?s chieftains, churchmen, and nobility. Since the actual Tartan Day fell on Good Friday, UWM's Celtic Studi es program is holding a celebration on the 13th. Join us in the Union Concourse for lots of activities: tartan cloth weaving demo, display of the official Wisconsin State Tartan and other notable tartan cloths, Scottish battle reenactments, Scottish armor exhibit and live music.
