Carlos Perez: Ibero-American Music from Romanticism

On Monday, November 25th, the Music Department, Latin American and Latino Studies program, with the support of IPLACe, will present a concert featuring Chilean Classical Guitar Virtuoso Carlos Perez in the Ring Theater at 7:30 p.m.
Perez will be performing on a Spanish guitar compositions from Romantic composers of Spain and South America, from the era between the 1850s to 1930s.

This is a chance to understand how cultural influences are passed on in music as Spaniards settle in South America and influenced each other. Also, how Spanish music affects the musical genres of Latin American music, and how it affects the expansion of the guitar in the continent as it enters into the conservatories in Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.
