Sustainbility Film: Living Downstream

Sandra Steingraber is a biologist, author, cancer survivor and cancer prevention advocate. Based on her book, Living Downstream, the film documents a growing body of scientific evidence that links human wealth with the health of our environment. Part scientific exploration, part personal journey, the film follows the author’s personal life and also tracks important progress of scientific investigation on environmental links to cancer and other health ailments. Directed by Chanda Chevannes, 2010. 85 minutes.

UNCG's 7th Annual Sustainability Film Series at the Weatherspoon Art Museum features the latest documentaries on global warming, clean water, organic food, light pollution, recycled electronics and more. Post-screening discussions led by local experts give guests a chance to ask questions and learn more about relevant sustainability issues in our community. Films begin at 6:30pm in the Weatherspoon auditorium and are free.
