Global Sustainability Symposium: The Story of Cities - Global and Local Perspectives on the Quest for Thriving and Sustainable Communities

This symposium will examine the factors that create healthy and innovative communities where people and businesses thrive across the globe. The program's goal is to stimulate conversation and inspire innovation in community building.

Keynote Speaker: Daniel Brook, the author of A History of Future Cities (W. W. Norton, 2013). To research A History of Future Cities, Brook lived for a month each in St. Petersburg, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Dubai.

Presented by the Center for Sustainable Enterprise, Kenan-Flagler Business School, and the Global Business Center, Kenan-Flagler Business School. Co-hosted by: the UNC African Studies Center, UNC Center for European Studies & European Union Center of Excellence, UNC Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies, UNC Department of City and Regional Planning, and UNC Institute for the Environment.
