Birding focus: Premier migrant hotspot in the SE. We'll be looking for any migrants, primarily flycatchers, vireos, thrushes, warblers, tanagers, and grosbeaks. Mr. Beaton is the author of Birding Georgia, A Guide to Finding Birds in Georgia. He also periodically writes articles for various birding publications and has made over 800 birding trips through the trails of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. Walk is ~ 2.5 miles total.

Parking: Group will meet in Visitor Center parking lot (see directions below). Arrive early to find parking place. If lot is full, park at parking lot #2 (see directions below). Walk 0.4 miles from parking lot #2 to Visitor Center lot. GPS of Visitor Center lot: N 33 59.037 W 84 34.703 GPS of parking lot #2: N 33 59.127 W 84 34.852 Restrooms in Visitor Center.
Directions: From I-75 take exit 269 (Barrett Pkwy). At end of ramp turn west onto Barrett Pkwy. Drive 2 miles, then turn left at stoplight onto Old Hwy 41. Parking lot #2 will be on your right along Old Hwy 41 in 1 mile. To reach the meeting place parking lot, continue on Old Hwy 41 for 1000 ft. to the Stilesboro Rd. stoplight. Turn right onto Stilesboro and in 350 ft. turn left into Visitor Center parking lot where group will meet.
