The Externship Program has many benefits for Forest students who need employment. The Externship Program, while not part of our academic programs, has been designed to provide participating students with the opportunity to work a 20 hour per week job paying $14 an hour as a Community Support Specialist at Burrell. The academic schedule has been structured to accommodate participation in the Externships and participation does not add to cost-of-attendance or limit loans.
Interested students should attend this meeting or if unable to attend see Kim Ramacciotti. Under no circumstances should interested students directly approach Burrell, since this is an opportunity only available to full time matriculated Forest students. Additionally, eligible students must have a car and be prepared to drive clients, and have a bachelors degree in social science or a related field.
If you attempting to work while going to school, I urge you to check out the Externship Program. It is a unique opportunity to gain valuable behavioral health experience and earn a competitive wage in a time frame coordinated with the academic schedule.
