*Outer island attorneys may call into the training*
Bring your lunch and learn what exactly child support is, how its calculated, the different routes to a support order, and the relationship between welfare and child support. The training will also cover the basics of Family Court rules and procedures relating to establishment or modification of child support, and how to prepare for court. Upon the completion of training, pro bono attorneys can accept a case through Legal Aid Society’s Partnership in Pro Bono Project (if available).
These trainings are offered free of charge to attorneys interested in taking a pro bono case with Legal Aid. Each course has been approved for a 1 hour credit for both Hawaii and California CLE credit. Attendees will receive 1 VCLE credit for Hawaii which may be converted to 1 MCPE credit upon the completion of a pro bono case with Legal Aid.
