You have the option to extend automatic updates to ten years and receive continued support for security, performance and stability on your device.
However, devices that receive extended support will lose the functionality to run Android apps or the Google Play store, and any existing Android apps will be uninstalled. Android app support is removed when you opt into extended updates to maintain security, performance, and stability on your device.
