I came to the United States to further my education and convert my dreams into reality. I always believed that the United States was not only the land of great opportunities but the ultimate destination to realize one’s dreams.
The journey for me, just like every other young Indian migrant, was arduous right from securing admissions to finally getting a job. After completing my studies I was lucky enough to be sponsored by a company for the most coveted H-1B status, but not all of my fellow migrants are lucky and many have to come back with tears in their eyes and shattered dreams to start the process once again.
The work depicts the voyage taken by Indian immigrants for the goal of acquiring the H-1B visa. The ocean represents the tumultuous journey in the rough sea, the boat represents opportunities, the people depict the hope of fulfilling the dream.
