Denver Art Museum

Denver, Estados Unidos

Founded in 1893 and already one of the largest art museums between Chicago and the West Coast, the Denver Art Museum nearly doubled its gallery space when the new Frederic C. Hamilton Building opened in October 2006. Designed by Daniel Libeskind, the Hamilton Building consists of geometric shards flaring out like titanium flower petals. The Museum's striking North Building was designed by Gio Ponti of Italy. In addition to temporary exhibition space and collection galleries, the Hamilton Building includes public spaces and a 280-seat auditorium. The Museum’s galleries showcase some of its 70,000+ works of art, including European and American painting, sculpture, design, and textiles and a world-famous American Indian art collection. Other collections include Western American, pre-Columbian and Spanish Colonial art, Asian, and architecture, graphics and design. Nationally recognized as a family-friendly place, the Denver Art Museum offers programs including the Just For Fun Family Center, Family Backpacks, Hotspots, the Kids Corner, and the Discovery Libraries.
