Inspiring the Creative Process
You can download Doodle 4 Google posters and pamphlets.
Just like stretching before playing sports, it’s important to warm up your brain too! These classroom activities, developed in partnership with Discovery Education, are designed to help K-12 classrooms (and individuals) stretch their creative muscles and warm up for the Doodle 4 Google competition. Kick-off your class' or kids' discussion with the short videos and use the activities to get the creative juices flowing!
Activity Pack #1: Imagine
Imagine is intended to help inspire creative thinking in your students. The activities focus on the first stage of the creative process, where students imagine what could be rather than what is. That includes generating ideas, asking questions, finding answers, and developing possible solutions.
Activity Pack #2: Create
Create is intended to help your students put their creative ideas into action as they embark on the Doodle 4 Google competition. The activities focus on the second stage of the creative process, where students begin to express their ideas through drawing, painting, and animation. The strategies introduced can be used in a wide variety of ways and contexts.
Activity Pack #3: Share and Collaborate
Share and Collaborate is intended to help your students see how sharing and collaborating with others can help refine their vision and make their final product the best it can be. The activities focus on the third stage of the creative process, where students explain their own creations and provide constructive feedback on the creations of others.
Meet the Doodlers
Classes will get to meet Google Doodlers and learn how they go from ideas to doodles. Doodlers will share the creative process for one of their doodles: brainstorms, first drafts and exploratory sketches, the review process and finally how it all comes together in the final doodle. They'll then take questions from the classrooms and other viewers on the Hangout On-Air. Watch live on Google+ at the times listed below.
