Sobre Unidad de fomento xilena
The Unidades de Fomento is a unit of account. It is a non-circulating currency; the exchange rate between the UF and the Chilean peso is constantly adjusted for inflation so that the purchasing power of the Unidad de Fomento remains almost constant on a daily basis during low inflation. It was created on 20 January 1967, for the use in determining the principal and interest in international secured loans for development, subject to revaluation according to inflation. Afterwards it was extended to all types of bank loans, private or special financing, purchases and investments on installments, contracts, and some special situations. It is also used in legal standards such as the par value of stock and capitalization of companies, and fines.
It has become the preferred and predominant measure to determine the cost of real estate, values of housing and any secured loan, either private or of the Chilean government. Individual payments are made in Chilean pesos, according to the daily value of the UF. El loti és la unitat monetària de Lesotho. El codi ISO 4217 és LSL i s'utilitzen les abreviacions L i M, aquesta darrera derivada del plural sesotho de la moneda. Se subdivideix en 100 lisente. El nom de la moneda prové de les muntanyes Maloti, que conformen un dels estreps septentrionals de la serralada del Drakensberg.
El loti es va introduir el 1979 en substitució del rand sud-africà a un tipus de canvi paritari. Actualment totes dues monedes pertanyen a l'Àrea Monetària Comuna juntament amb el lilangeni de Swazilàndia i el rand encara té valor legal dins de Lesotho.
Emès pel Banc Central de Lesotho, en circulen monedes d'1 sente i de 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 i 500 lisente, i bitllets de 10, 20, 50, 100 i 200 maloti. Com a curiositat, les tres monedes de més valor no s'especifiquen com a 1 loti i 2 i 5 maloti, sinó en la seva denominació fraccionària en lisente. Wikipedia
