Sobre Unidad de fomento xilena
The Unidades de Fomento is a unit of account. It is a non-circulating currency; the exchange rate between the UF and the Chilean peso is constantly adjusted for inflation so that the purchasing power of the Unidad de Fomento remains almost constant on a daily basis during low inflation. It was created on 20 January 1967, for the use in determining the principal and interest in international secured loans for development, subject to revaluation according to inflation. Afterwards it was extended to all types of bank loans, private or special financing, purchases and investments on installments, contracts, and some special situations. It is also used in legal standards such as the par value of stock and capitalization of companies, and fines.
It has become the preferred and predominant measure to determine the cost of real estate, values of housing and any secured loan, either private or of the Chilean government. Individual payments are made in Chilean pesos, according to the daily value of the UF. El balboa és la moneda oficial de Panamà, anomenada així en honor del conquistador Vasco Núñez de Balboa. Es divideix en 100 centésimos.
Des de 1903 ha estat lligada sempre al dòlar dels Estats Units i hi està en estricta paritat: els balboes es poden canviar per dòlars EUA a raó d'1 USD per 1 PAB en qualsevol moment.
Les actuals monedes d'1, 5, 10, 25, 50 centésimos tenen el mateix pes, mida i composició metàl·lica que les equivalents respectives en cents dels Estats Units. El Banco Nacional de Panamá ha anat emetent tradicionalment monedes d'1 balboa de la mateixa mida que la moneda de dòlar d'Eisenhower; el 2011 va posar en circulació noves monedes d'1 i 2 balboes bimetàl·liques. De bitllets de balboa no se n'emeten des del 1941, i de fet actualment no n'hi ha cap en circulació. Pel que fa als bitllets, doncs, Panamà usa els de dòlar. Wikipedia
