The Unidades de Fomento is a unit of account. It is a non-circulating currency; the exchange rate between the UF and the Chilean peso is constantly adjusted for inflation so that the purchasing power of the Unidad de Fomento remains almost constant on a daily basis during low inflation. It was created on 20 January 1967, for the use in determining the principal and interest in international secured loans for development, subject to revaluation according to inflation. Afterwards it was extended to all types of bank loans, private or special financing, purchases and investments on installments, contracts, and some special situations. It is also used in legal standards such as the par value of stock and capitalization of companies, and fines.
It has become the preferred and predominant measure to determine the cost of real estate, values of housing and any secured loan, either private or of the Chilean government. Individual payments are made in Chilean pesos, according to the daily value of the UF. Lo złoty è la valuta a corso legale ufficiale della Polonia. È suddivisa in 100 grosz. È la valuta più scambiata nell'Europa centrale e orientale e si colloca al ventiduesimo posto nel mercato valutario estero.
La parola złoty significa "dorato" ed è legata alla valuta nota in tedesco come gulden mentre il grosz si basa sul groschen. Lo złoty fu introdotto ufficialmente il 28 febbraio 1919 per sostituire il precedente marco polacco, e cominciò a circolare nel 1924. L'unico ente autorizzato a produrre e coniare le monete di złoty è la zecca polacca, chiamata Mennica Polska, fondata a Varsavia il 10 febbraio 1766.
Come conseguenza dell'iperinflazione dei primi anni 1990, la valuta subì una ridenominazione. Perciò, il 1º gennaio 1995, 10000 vecchi złoty divennero 1 nuovo złoty. Da allora, la valuta è rimasta relativamente stabile, con un tasso di cambio variabile tra i 3 e i 4 złoty per un dollaro statunitense.
