Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation is an Indian public sector undertaking that provides ticketing, catering, and tourism services for the state-owned Indian Railways and as well as travel agency services. It was established in 1999 by the Government of India and operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways. In 2019, IRCTC was listed on the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange. The Indian government subsequently divested a further 5% of its shareholding in 2022 and, as of 2026, holds approximately 62.4% of the company's shares. As of August 2026, IRCTC has 70.6 million registered users, with an average of 1.56 million tickets booked each day. Wikipedia
