Court Square Capital Partners is courting technology and telecommunications, health care, business services, and industrial companies. Spun off from Citigroup in 2006, the private equity and venture capital firm (formerly Citicorp Venture Capital) specializes in buyouts of middle-market companies. A long-term investor, Court Square Capital manages more than $6 billion in aggregate capital commitments. As part of its focus, the firm takes an active role with its investments, helping to improve operational efficiency and often making add-on acquisitions. To avoid potential conflicts of interest with its customers or its other investment funds, Citigroup no longer has equity in Court Square Capital.
