News beta
Google News for mobile devices enables you to quickly and easily access the news that you want from your mobile phone's web browser, either by scanning quick headline updates and preset news categories or, of course, by doing your own Google News search.
Simply enter your search term(s) in the search box at the top of the screen or select one of the categories that appear on the News homepage. To view top headlines in all news categories, click on the "Expand Sections" link found below the top headlines. To collapse these sections, click on the "Collapse Sections" link located at the bottom of the page.
You can view additional sources for each story by clicking on the "Related" links located beside the headlines.
The selection and placement of stories on Google News are automatically determined by a computer algorithm. There are no human editors involved. To ensure that you can easily read the news that you want, Google News only displays sources designed specifically for viewing on mobile phones.
To return to Google News after reading an article, press "back" on your mobile phone's web browser until you reach the Google News homepage (the "back" key varies from phone to phone; please consult your owner's manual for more information). You can also type google.com directly into your phone's web browser and then, click on the link to Google News.
You can set up your News homepage to show you the stories that best represent your interests. For example, to add a new section to your news homepage, click on "Customize this page". You'll then have the opportunity to type a search query and click on "Add section" to add the search query as a persistent section to your Google News for mobile page.
If you have a PDA or Smartphone, you can also browse the full HTML version of Google News, just like you can on the desktop. To view the desktop version, navigate to google.com on your mobile browser and click on the "Preferences" link to change your display to HTML.
