Thelower end of the plunger 141 is provided with an actuating knob 144 and the" plunger 141 reciprocates centrally through through the ball retainer of ball bearing 145. When" it is desire'd to lock the elevating screw to theturntable-and suppress its operatio n, thefknob '148is pushed in and thebi- 1 furcated' cam l46ywedges and cams against *the knob 144, pulling the actuating cone 14 down against the inner beveled ends 138 of the actuating ins 136. This forces the same outwardly so t at they wedge the clutch members 131, 132 apart into engagement with the recess 46 in'the top of the turntable 4, thereby locking the screw to the turntable so that actuation of the worm gear 32 from then on slowly turns the turntable and all that is supported thereby in either direction, depending on-the adjustment'of-the reversible motor.
