Once the installation is done, I edited /etc/group to include my user account to mythtv group. I found one thread on this, unresolved, from 2009. Yikes. Here is the problem. You go into yast2 to start the mythbackend. ok, so I just installed my hvr1600, and selected TV from my hybrid's OSD. It takes me to a setup screen asking for my language preference. Then I have a screen pop up that says, "MythTV seems to have died...reboot." I can exit from that screen and select my language.
