العصر البرونزي هو عصر ظهور علم السبائك، وهذا العصر بداية ظهور علم الفلزات عندما عرف الإنسان كيف يصهر أملاح النحاس مع الفحم النباتي في البواتق والأفران لصهرها بالحرارة واختزال هذه الأملاح. وكان يخلط النحاس الغفل مع القصدير أو الأنتيمون ويصهرهما معا. وكان البرونز يستخدم في صناعة الأدوات والمعازق والمجارف والسكاكين. ويكيبيدياالفترة: 3000 ق.م – 1200 ق.م
