    Dec 1, 2006 - Once set up, this will give you SMB browsing from within Thunar. This solution and pyNeighborhood both satisfy my requirements. This solution is slightly easier to use for SMB browsing once it set up, but pyNeighborhood includes the ability to browse and mount CIFS filesystems. Choose whatever suits.

So, if you are running Feisty and want to browse network shares, it's as easy as this: sudo apt-get install pyneighborhood. sudo chmod +s /usr/bin/smbmnt sudo chmod +s /usr/bin/smbumount.
