Pros: Sharp design. Great throughput at 5GHz. Excellent range. Wonderful QoS. Full VPN capability.
Cons: Less-than-expected throughput at 2.4GHz band. Painful Bridge mode configuration. Slow to apply settings changes.
Bottom Line: Excellent throughput and range at the 5GHz band, lots of features (including full VPN)?plus a cool name?all make the Nighthawk one of the best routers we've seen from Netgear in a while, despite a few annoyances.

Pros: Speed, range, ease of use
Cons: Clunky UI management software
I love how fast and reliable this Netgear Nightwawk is. The tri-antenna definitely helps with the range. If you are worried about range, whether you are extending to a friend's dorm room a couple doors down, to a guest house, or if you are Hugh Hefner and need a wifi signal to reach your bunnies by the pool, then this router is for you.
My only complaint is that the software and wireless management system is very outdated and clunky. You don't have to do more than configure your router and security, so you should have to deal with the software a great deal. This a marginal complaint compared to the performance of the router itself.
