Food is good, don't get me wrong. In fact it's very healthy as confirmed by my constant glucose monitor that I wear 24x7. It does not raise my glucose like other foods that are processed food. So here is the problem. Last visit was packed badly and one full box of stuff was ruined and had to be thrown away. Customer service provided credit, yes. However, no replacements. This week the delivery is delayed by a day (who knows when it'll get here). And so this is a problem, again. Why is this an issue? I'm a person who can't go in stores due to cancer, heart, etc. and can't get sick. So I was doing instacart and getting frozen stuff or even fresh meats and cooking at home. Low energy makes that even less doable. So when I stumbled onto Factor I thought, wow, great idea. Not cheap, but still, good real healthy food delivered to door, just pop in microwave and cook. Easy, right? Yes, first few weeks went well. However, the warm box wiped out 1/2 of what I was going to eat this last week. So I had to make arrangements for other stuff which isn't as healthy and is difficult to arrange because local grocery store prepared foods are only good for a few days, so having to reorder multiple times. Since I was already short meals for the week, now a delayed box, where is that box? Was it meant to be left sitting somewhere for another day? I'm expecting it to show up and be warm too. A big company like Factor should be consistent, quality, and reliable. They aren't a cheap option when those initial discounts go away. But it's healthy food and when all is packed and delivered on a reliable schedule, it's worth the extra money in my mind. I haven't been sick from their food, which also speaks to their quality, but it's after they prepare and package it is when stuff goes wrong. And that seems like a small thing to most people, but when you are in my situation, unable to go into stores, you want to be able to rely on your provider. Not so here based on a limited experience. Food is good, it's healthy, and honestly a Godsend for people like me. But you gotta realize people are counting on you and you need to step up your game to get stuff here properly and on time, with no mistakes. if you can't, then you need to re-think why you aren't able to do that. I'll be leaving if any other issues, like if I get a warm box tomorrow.

UPDATE 8/26/2025 I must say that I am impressed!! The company actually read this review, replied to it, followed up with an email, and immediately issued a refund. I am happy to see that there are actually people handling the follow-through on a higher level, and not just automated AI programs sending generic replies. *** Original post: I would like to start by saying that the meals are absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, the customer service chat and packaging are horrendous!! My 14 meal box delivered on Wednesday, August 20th arrived in 2 separate boxes. The 1st box contained only 2 meals and 2 small snacks in a huge box with 3 freezer packs. The 2nd box contained 10 meals and had 2 freezer packs. There were 2 meals missing from this order. Also, 1 of the freezer packs in the 1st box and 2 in the 2nd box were punctured and leaked all over the meals, which was quite disgusting. The damage appears to have been from something sharp, such as a box cutter or scissors. That order and the one before it both had ruptured packs and meals with broken trays, so there was no way to tell if that gel had gotten into the meals and all 4 were thrown away immediately. I tried using the "contact us" feature on the website and did receive credit for the 4 broken trays but kept being transferred to "speak to a representative" when trying to report the missing meals. No representative ever came on the chat. I sat waiting for over an hour on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with no avail. My very first box and the last box I received on Sunday, August 24th were the only ones that arrived ethically packed (all in one box without the unnecessary 2nd box and excess gel packs) and without broken trays. The directions on the meals are hard enough to read with such small print, but are impossible to see once they get wet from the leaking gel packs, too. I have skipped my delivery for Sunday September 7th, and will be canceling my account if I can not resolve the issue with the 2 missing meals and credits due.

FACTOR is great for people who don't cook, can't cook, or for people who need variety and don't want to spend a lot of time thinking about it. HelloFresh is more economical, but you also have to be more accountable as far as cooking and ingredients, because if you aren't, you end up throwing fresh food away. FACTOR doesn't recommend freezing their entrees, but I have and have had no problem. The one great thing I will say is that these meals are packed with AWESOME flavor. Really delicious!! I truly haven't had a bad meal yet. I also find the portions to be "just right". If you are a hearty eater, you may not be satisfied. The downside, as with most prepared meals, is that there is a TON of sodium!!! Definitely should not be eating these for 2-3 times a day. I eat a meal either for lunch, or dinner. I also like that you can customize and deviate from the pre-selected meals that they choose for you based upon your original sign-up choices (KETO, GLP-1, VEGAN, etc..) and you can change these settings anytime you want. Another negative is obviously the cost. That initial sign up promotional bargain is great! but once that ends...you see how expensive it actually is. Which is why I skip weeks at a time. There is also an upcharge on meals that contain beef or shrimp. These are considered "gourmet". One other annoyance is the 12 hour delivery window. When I first signed up, my deliveries were generally arriving before 11:00am within an (8am-8pm delivey window). Now... my deliveries seem to arrive closer to 8pm, and one time, it didn't show up until the next day. So it can be hit or miss.

The food is always prepared properly, have not gotten sick from eating any of it, regardless of what it was poultry, beef, pork, shrimp, etc. A few times I've had problems with meals arriving packed improperly and some were warm, and for those, I contacted customer support and with proper pics, was credited back for them. The one downside is that if missing or warm meals, you can't get replacements, you have to make other arrangements until your next box arrives, which only comes 1x a week. As for the variety, there are plenty of menu names/choices to pick from. The thing with the menu is that so many have green beans. It's like you get sick of green beans. And so many of the meals taste the same. Same seasoning although different sauce, and frankly some of the seasoning isn't some that I enjoy. Some of their best meals are the simple turkey dinner, or even the wings add on, but I eat it as a meal, no veggies or carbs, just wings. For the times I've paid to upgrade to the filet mignon, it's worth the upgrade charge (doubles meal price) because it includes things like big yummy carrots! All of the hard work, food safety, and concern for properly getting these to you each week, is not lost on me. I can't go shopping due to medical reasons, I can't even think of ordering food and cooking anymore, just no energy/interest. This is a simple heat and eat alternative and while the food choices sometimes all seem alike, they really are different and it's a mental thing. This is the most important thing I can pass on. Using my CGM, I can tell you that the reaction to eating Factor vs. say a frozen dinner, is night and day. The processed foods used in a frozen dinner freak out my CGM. It's bad and it's long lasting as my body tries to break down the food. This only means that junk is creating more fat, because my body can't process it. Factor meals do NOT peak my CGM and that tells me it's real food, not processed, and is the healthiest thing I have found to eat. That is my take on the healthy part, it's true, and it's very real. Your mileage may vary, but my guess is that if more people wore a CGM they'd realize why they aren't able to lose the weight or why they are gaining weight. Anything that creates too much sugar isn't good for you. That's been proven. Factor meals are a better choice.

Our very first box was delayed and sat in a warehouse. Support did not care about the situation. One support member even force ended a chat and told me to “just wait”. I told them I still needed help and that they hadn’t addressed my issue and they kept sending their outro script text “thanks my name is X and I am so glad I got to help you today if there’s anything else I can help you with just ask.” As I pleaded with them to help me and they just kept dumping their script before they ended the chat and I was connected with a new support member so I couldn’t even report the issue to factor. They share support teams with multiple companies (as shown by emails they sent me from a Hello Fresh email) and they put the absolute bare minimum into support. The people are so rude and without personalities that I wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually an AI tool but even that may want to help me solve my issue. Their support model is basically burn as much time as possible so you get tired of dealing with them and just end the call or chat and stop seeking support. You may think I just had an experience with one or two people but I talked to more than 5 people at their support team. One guy gave me a FedEx email to reach out to which isn’t in service anymore, one lady hung up on me in anger because I didn’t want to “just wait”, there’s a lot more.. I could go on forever. Eventually someone gave me a coupon for “my next box” which I’ll probably never order and I figured that’s the most I could possibly ever hope for from the support team. We eventually got our first box and the ice packs were still kinda cool so we felt like it was still safe to eat (also I figured support would not help us so I just kept the somewhat cold food). It’s about the same quality as a Marie Callender frozen meal or a Banquet brand meal, only it costs more. The chicken is consistently super dry and bland. Sometimes things are way over-spiced and other times it tastes bland. The serving sizes are also pretty small considering the price. You’ll probably eat a meal and still be hungry. I do like that they have a phone app so you can pick out your meals without using a computer and a browser. I think there’s a specific “perfect buyer” for this product and I’m not that person at all. As far as I can tell this is perfect for someone with a lot of money to waste, who wants very small portions, who otherwise would just be eating fast food, who isn’t very picky about their food, who will never use support. I’m not willing to spend this much money for such terrible support and the lower quality and quantity of food, if they ever send it before the food goes bad.
